Groups

Groups are an integral part of the Cancer Wellness Center. They provide those diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones opportunities to share, learn, and gain support from others who are going through similar experiences. Current research indicates that regular attendance in a group has been shown to improve quality of life.

SUPPORT GROUPS
The support groups, facilitated by the Center's clinical staff, provide a safe environment for discussing and exploring the concerns and emotions of living with a cancer diagnosis. Participants have the opportunity to discuss issues related to treatment, living with cancer, coping strategies, life after cancer, coping strategies, life after cancer...anything related to their cancer journey. The focus of the following groups is on the life-altering impact of a cancer diagnosis. Because this experience is common to all types of cancer, the groups are open to cancer survivors of all diagnoses at any point in time - newly diagnosed, in treatment, post treatment or living with a recurrence.

Cancer Support Groups
• Men’s Groups
• Women’s Groups
• Young Women's Group (primarily 20's through 40's)
