Approximately 5-10% of cancer patients develop cancer because of an inherited risk factor. At this session, Kristen Vogel will discuss the signs that indicate that a family may have a genetic risk factor for cancer as well as discuss the details of the genetic counseling and testing process. Issues regarding insurance coverage and laws to protect against genetic discrimination will also be covered. Presenter: Deb Wojcik, M.S.W., L.C.S.W., Bereavement Coordinator, Cancer Wellness Center
We often associate grief only with death, and fail to recognize that it can appear in times of loss or transition as well. Grief can surface throughout our lifetime, often unexpectedly, and can have tremendous impact on us physically as well as spiritually. Join us for a program centered around identifying different types of grief, learning grief management skills and discovering ways that you can find help in healing during difficult times.
