Priscilla Andrews, M.A., L.P.C.
Clinical Associate & Intake Coordinator


Priscilla Andrews is a counselor at the Cancer Wellness Center, working with individuals and couples through the family room™ program. She also facilitates a variety of groups at the Center, including the Daytime Women Survivor Support Group, an Evening Survivor Support Group, a Young Women Survivor Support Group for women in their 20's and 30's, and the Ovarian Cancer Discussion Group. As the Intake Coordinator, Priscilla helps to ensure that all requests for clinical services are fulfilled in a timely manner. Priscilla's main areas of interest are survivorship, caregiver support, and bereavement. 

Ary Christofidis, Ph.D., L.C.P.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist


Dr. Christofidis has been associated with the Cancer Wellness Center since 2005. Dr. Christofidis facilitates the Men's Support Group in addition to conducting individual and family psychotherapy for men diagnosed with cancer through the family room™ program. Dr. Christofidis has been working in the field of psychology since 1991.

Deborah Kronenberger, M.A., L.P.C.
Wellness Program Coordinator


Deborah Kronenberger is a clinician and certified yoga instructor. Her clinical duties include coordinating the mind/body/spirit programs; counseling individuals, couples, and families through the family room™ program at both the Northbrook and Grayslake Cancer Wellness Center locations; and teaching yoga and meditation. Deborah also facilitates the Spirituality Discussion Group as well as the Applications for Daily Living series, which teaches participants how to apply what they have learned in the mind/body/spirit programs to their daily life.

Kimberly Matthews, M.A., L.C.P.C.
Support Programs Coordinator


Kim is a licensed clinical professional counselor who has been at the Cancer Wellness Center since 1998. She facilitates a support group for Young Women with Cancer and a support group for Significant Others of a loved one with cancer. Kim teaches Meditation at the Botanic Garden and Strength for Caring: Supporting the Caregiver. She also sees families, individuals and couples in the family room™ program.

Megan McMahon, Ph.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Clinical Director


Dr. McMahon has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in health and behavioral medicine. Her specialty is working with couples who are coping with chronic illness. In 2003 Dr. McMahon developed the program Partners Empowered™, a six-week structured intervention aimed at facilitating adjustment and softening the impact a cancer diagnosis has on a couple's relationship. In 2011, Dr. McMahon was named the Clinical Director. 
She also sees individuals and couples in the family room™ program.

Katie Salyer, Psy.D.
Post Doctoral Fellow

Katie Salyer is a therapist at the Cancer Wellness Center, providing support to individuals, couples, and families through the
family room™ program. Katie enjoys working with children and adolescents as well as adults and is able to offer bilingual counseling in Spanish. Katie facilitates a Women's Survivor Support Group in Northbrook as well as the Grayslake Survivor Support Group. Katie provides counseling at both the Northbrook and Grayslake Cancer Wellness Center locations. Katie also conducts the Screen and Link program within North Shore Oncology Hematology Associates in Libertyville, connecting patients to community resources.

Gilda Schaffer, Psy.D., L.C.P.C.
Clinical Associate


Dr. Gilda Schaffer is a bilingual (Spanish-English) psychotherapist who specializes in brief and long-term therapy for late adolescents, individuals and couples. She has experience working with a varied range of disorders, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, fears and phobias, difficult life transitions and the application of hypnosis to the treatment of somatic disorders. Dr. Schaffer works in the Northbrook and Waukegan locations on a part-time basis,
providing counseling services to individuals through the Center's family room™.

Deb Wojcik, L.C.S.W.
Bereavement Coordinator

Deb is the Coordinator of Bereavement and Professional Education at the Cancer Wellness Center. She has been with the Cancer Wellness Center since 2000, facilitating support and discussion groups, providing counseling services through the Center's family room™ program, and assisting with the Center's Professional Development and Training Program for behavioral healthcare professionals. Deb has developed and taught the Cancer in the Workplace program since its inception in 2005. Deb has over 15 years experience in the field including work in hospice care, inpatient, managed care, training in grief and illness counseling, and chronic or life-limiting medical illnesses.

  Courtney Barry
Advanced Practicum Student

Courtney Barry is a 4th year Doctoral Student at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is completing her advanced practicum at the Cancer Wellness Center providing therapy and counseling services for individuals, couples, families and groups. Some of Courtney’s interests within the field of psychology include wellness prevention measures, bereavement and loss, the integration of therapeutic services in the medical field, and children and family work.
  Erin Baurle
Advanced Practicum Student

Erin Baurle is a 4th year Doctoral Student at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is completing her advanced practicum at the Cancer Wellness Center providing therapy and counseling services for individuals, couples, and groups. Some of Erin’s interests within the field of psychology include mindfulness, end-of-life care, geriatrics, and the intersection of medical disorders and psychological well-being.

 

Carolyn Bennett
Volunteer & Clinical Support Coordinator


Carolyn is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center, managing the participant database, organizing program registration, and reporting Clinical statistics. 
She also coordinates regular building maintenance and supply orders.  As the Volunteer Coordinator, Carolyn is responsible for recruiting, orienting, training and scheduling volunteers at the Center. 

Nancy Bulzoni
Chief Operating Officer


Nancy is the newly-appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Cancer Wellness Center.  Prior to holding this position, Nancy served in multiple roles within the Center, beginning in 2005.  Throughout her tenure at the Center, Nancy has served as Assistant Director of Development, Director of Development and Operations and most recently Director of Operations.

Jacqueline Hogendorp
Database Coordinator


Jacqueline manages the Center’s database. She keeps information current by making all changes and inputs contributions and commemorations. Jacqueline has over 10 years experience in database management with nonprofit organizations.

Nancy is responsible for the accounting of the Cancer Wellness Center. She has over 15 years of accounting experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
